KitchenAid KPS2CL Pouring Shield for 4-1/2 and 5-Quart Stand Mixers

One of the best features of a stand mixer is that you can add other ingredients while the mixing action is occuring. However, it can be a little tricky trying to get those eggs, or that sugar into the bowl, without getting in the way of a moving beater, or without ingredients sloshing outside the bowl. The answer to these difficulties is a pouring shield. The chute lets you add ingredients from a safe distance while the "collar" prevents splashes from wet ingredients and "puff" from dry ingredients.

I must say, I really think this thing is more trouble than its worth. My mother bought this for me, and it was rarely used. Somewhere along the line, they forgot, they gave me the first one and bought another. Thus, the oldest very lonely in the closet, the second holding of a company - still in the box. Here's why: First, is the shield in two sections, and they are not as easy to connect with each other. Now you might think, if they do not easily, at least they stayed together, right? Nope. Mines continue to grow apart. Well, if you get the nice bowl full, we say with a lot of double-chocolate chip cookie dough, forget it - the thing is completely unnecessary. Once the dough in the bowl trips, the sign is replaced, you make it to the door at the next window to throw. I like to keep flour from the kitchen as a whole, if you add it while the mixer is started - but it gets stuck in the little "ramp" in any event that makes you push it all with a rubber scraper would also be nice for something smooth and very sloppy. But all in all, I find it a waste of time and money. Luckily it was my mother's money, not mine. (By the way, she has one and loves it. I can not understand why just because it has the same complaints I do. You just have to wash a few dishes ...) If you want to spend money in a useful Kitchenaid accessories, buy an extra bowl - one with a handle and a set of covers. 77 of 78 people found this review helpful. useful, but sometimes in invonvenient Gaylin Walli pour Shield is a clear consolation on my blender, which makes it easier to add both wet and dry ingredients without stopping the mixing process and increase the beater, whisk and dough hook. It is easily removed from the bowl once you figure out the trick to get on, and cleans quickly with a shot of hot water and soap or run through the dishwasher a little 'as all mixers kitchen aid attachmentsI'ma just ripped the coast. I'd give four stars, but I only gave three stars because of shield some disadvantages listed below. I'm glad that came free with my console and I'd probably buy another if mine is damaged. For someone without a shield fighter, I would certainly recommend they consider buying it, but the following things in mind ... I found that if nothing else, be it bread or biscuits or whathaveyou, you should really consider adding cup absolutely no more than 1 / 2 (dry measure U.S.) of ingredients for the cup. Ideal if you add less to the bowl a couple of times. Every time I have the bread, when I try 1 / 2 cup flour or more to be added during the final stages of mixing, even the low speed results in two ingredients splattered up and under pouring shield Moreover severability handy pouring shield soon a problem if you are not careful. If you spray anything, I thought he sneezes directly to the hinges that are part of the small separate bootable pouring shield itself. Once your ingredients are the hinges are on the side of the bowl in your worksheet, and probably you. 62 of 64 people found the following review helpful. I do not know what I would do without these atmj Because this is a nice feature of this mixer. I use it with mashed potatoes and chocolate chip cookies. It is essential if you want the whip mashed potatoes and keep them in the bowl. Chocolate chip cookies with the dough is so thick, if you do not have that when you add the chips, which end up in orbit. I find it easy to store and easy to use ingredients ramp makes it useful for adding things on the fly. What would be better if this feature had an opening angle and was higher. I often had to push.
