WIDE Heavy Duty Bowl, 575 Watts of power by Lori c I bought my mixer from Costco, I bought this model because of the power and the large bowl. I served well. I used it for dough, cookies, cheesecake, pizza dough to make, I love this machine is very powerful. You will too! I had a Jenn Aire mixer, but I burned it. The mixer handles everything beautifully. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. KitchenAid For Leza Frazee HD 550 I have this as a Christmas present for less than six months ago. I use it on a daily basis between the corn tortilla dough and cake dough of corn, cheese, meat and vegetables, mix frosting and fondant. I had no problems with this mixer, it performs very well all the time and I never had engine failure. I just ordered the mill and the ice cream maker attachment after finding the grating attachment is so useful. I am a professional chef/baker and this product is used in my student kitchen at the university as well 2 of 3 people found the following review helpful. not like they used to be By dkrae I have a 1 year old KA Professional HD stand mixer. It has just gone out of warranty and I have began to notice metal dust in bread dough. After disassembling the planetary assembly, I found a mass of aluminum shavings in it. I finally figured out that the spiral dough hook pushes up on the attachment shaft so hard when kneading dough that it dislodges the bottom snap ring on the shaft and pushes the planetary spur gear up into the aluminum housing. I replaced the snap ring but it still dislodges it. The hook-shaped dough hook does not push up and dislodge the snap ring, but it is much less effective at kneading. I guess that KA is not made for bread making See all 3 customer reviews....
